LILLIAN MARIE VAN NORMAN
 (nee GAGNE)
November 10, 1936 - January 10, 2015

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Lillian, after a lengthy illness, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Remaining to forever cherish Lils memory are her loving sons, Randy (Lynne) of Winnipeg, Dan, (Joyce), of Kelowna, Sam, (Leslie) of Kelowna, Steve (Andy) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Robyn, Shane, Nicole; brother, Pete (Phyllis) of Dryden ON; sister, Yvonne (Gordy) of Winnipeg; sisters -in – law, Isabel and family of Rainy River, ON, Betty and family of Winnipeg; nieces, Michelle and Iris of Winnipeg; and numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives across Canada; as well as dear friends, Evelyn and Eva. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Clifford, and her son Terry (Lorena).
Lil was born in Hearst, ON in 1936. She grew up on the family farm in Pinewood, ON. She met and married the love of her life, Clifford in 1955. Lil and Cliff moved around to where ever his work with the railroad took them, finally settling in Winnipeg in 1965. Lil was inordinately proud of her five sons and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life. She was a caring and giving person not only to her family but to friends and everyone she encountered throughout her life.  Mom was independent, capable, and always busy. She had a great spirit and a smile that lit up her face. She loved to cook and her home was a place of love and warmth. She will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
A service celebrating Lils life will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Norberry Community Centre, 26 Molgat Avenue. A Private family interment will follow at a later date.
The Family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the WRHA Palliative Care Program, and the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion for Lil. A special thanks to Lynne and Lorena who stood by Mom and were always there for her throughout her illness.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Lil’s memory would be gratefully accepted.
