Wojcik's Funeral Home - Adeena Gaudhe Funeral Arrangements

ADEENA (DEENA) ALMA GAUDHE
(NEE WEISS)

Quietly, in the early hours of Wednesday, April 23, 2014, age 89, this amazing woman was granted her angel wings and joyfully traveled to her forever home in heaven wrapped in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith; it is the gift of God”.
With Deena’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, she will forever remain in our hearts. Remaining to forever cherish Deena’s memory are her two beloved daughters; Donna Barclay and husband Stan; grandchildren Michael and Melissa Barclay; Wendy Holm and husband Brian; grandsons Cory Bell, Jeffrey Bell and his wife Jessica Ross with great-grandchildren Jacob and Jewel Bell; and granddaughter Rebecca Holm. She is also survived by two remaining sisters Anne Barnes and Doreen Braiden; numerous nieces; nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Wilhelm and Matilda Weiss; sisters Esther, Adelma, Amy; brothers Leonard, Elmer and Leslie, all of whom she dearly missed. It will bring Deena great joy to finally be with those loved ones that have gone before.
Deena grew up in Winnipeg on Alexander Avenue and later relocated to Sherburn Street where she lived in the family home until she purchased her own home in Charleswood. Deena worked as an executive secretary for the Red Cross Society for over 32 years with many wonderful staff and coworkers.  After retiring she took extreme pride in her home where she loved gardening and sitting on the swing in the yard with her much loved dog Jillie. She enjoyed watching her TV shows and was an avid sports fan, as well as being very artistic especially with knitting, oil painting, needlepoint and paper toile.
In essence, Deena was a remarkable amazing woman.  A single mother in the 50’s was never easy but she managed to constantly display her strength and determination to improve her situation and she did just that. Stubborn, strong willed and fiercely independent, a strong yet loving unstoppable religious spirit right to the end. Deena was the most loving Mother, Sister, Daughter, Nana, Auntie and loyal friend. Deena’s two daughters would like to thank all those wonderful family and friends who visited. Your visits gave her much cheer and comfort. Special thanks to Theresa, Linda and Barb for being her good friends and confidantes for so many years.
You are in a better place now. The gifts you have given to each and every one of us are ours forever, your countless stories, laughter, words of wisdom, the memories you created for all of us, and always your unwavering love. You are in our hearts forever and we will love you always.  A private family Interment will be held.

Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Janet Bush Funeral Arrangements

JANET BUSH
(nee HILL)

The family of Janet Bush is sad to announce her passing on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 67 years.
Janet is survived by her son Cameron (Steven); daughter Kaleigh (Shawn); sisters Norah Campbell and Carol Nichol; brother-in-law Gary Nichol; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Dan; mother Dora; father Richard; and brother Ricky, who passed away in early childhood.
Mom was born in Vita, Manitoba and spent most of her early childhood living in the Southeastern part of the province, with periods in Badger, Marchand and finally Hadashville, where she made lifelong friends in Florence and Dennis Kupiak. She grew up in a tightknit family, and remained close to her sisters throughout her life. After the sudden passing of their father when Mom was a girl, the family moved to Winnipeg where she graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and later attended secretarial college. Mom initially worked as a legal secretary, before spending many years at Pool Elevators.
During this time Mom met and married Dan, and together they enjoyed trips to Europe, Bermuda, Florida and Hawai’i, the memories of which she always treasured. Mom stayed home following the arrival of her kids but later returned to the workforce, including positions at The Safety Centre and, in the years immediately preceding her retirement, at Chicken Delight Head Offices. Though she lived with chronic health issues for the last few years, Mom had many more good days than bad, and was grateful for her extended periods of good health.
Mom had a great many pastimes over the years, most of them creative—photography, gardening, crafting, reading and flower arranging were a few among many. Most of all, Mom loved people: she cherished her friends and loved her whole extended family; she always valued and cared for her neighbours and community; and she would happily talk to almost anyone. She was friendly and generous, and liked to laugh with people. She will be deeply missed.
On Wednesday, April 30, 2014 Janet’s Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive.
The family wishes to thank all of Mom’s healthcare providers for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Wayne Poon, Dr. Pat Harris and her homecare provider, Darlene.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.

Hugh Turnbull - Richard Wojcik

HUGH COLLINS TURNBULL
May 18, 1939 - April 21, 2014
It is with profound sadness that the family of Hugh Turnbull announces his sudden passing, at the age of 74, at Selkirk General Hospital.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 52 years and his best friend, Patricia, his daughters Beth (Brian) and Allyson (Jason), and his grandchildren Andrea, David, Scott and Eliza. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Bev (Cliff), brothers Bobby (Jean) and Barry (Karen), and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Hughie. He was predeceased by his son Michael, mother Eliza, father Harry and brother Alexander.
Hugh was born on May 18, 1939, in Winnipeg to a close-knit family of humble means, and he grew up in East Kildonan and the North End. It didn't take long for him to make his mark as a fine athlete, although as a young boy he had to make do with old, raggedy skates with soft toes, newspapers for shin pads and anything else he could borrow to play the games he loved. A smart, talented baseball player, Hugh was a player-coach with The Pas TeePees team that won the 1959 Polar League Championship and was later inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. He was also an outstanding football player at Isaac Newton and with the Weston Wildcats, and he even suited up as #56 for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1963. In 2010, he was inducted into the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame. The big, burly left-hander also carved out success on the golf course. A career low-handicapper and long-ball hitter at Rossmere, Elmhurst and Selkirk, Hugh won the Manitoba senior golf title in 1994 and was a three-time member of the provincial senior team.
Hugh passed on his love affair with sports, and the thrill of competition, to his children and grandchildren. Rarely did a very proud Papa miss a hockey game, horse-jumping event or dance competition. His family was absolutely everything to him, and he meant everything to us. He and Patti enjoyed special friendships with many people from Manitoba and also from across Canada and the U.S., who they met during winter months spent in The Desert', ie. Palm Springs, CA. We'll miss the way he carved up his famous baron of beef at Sunday suppers, his great big laugh when telling one of his own jokes and, mostly, those massive arms that offered warmth and safety. The passing of this wonderful man has jolted us beyond comprehension, but we feel blessed to have had him in our lives and will treasure the glorious memories of our time with Hugh... Dad... Papa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pulford Community Living Services Inc., 1146 Waverley St., Winnipeg, MB R3T 0P4. It is an organization that was near and dear to Hugh's heart.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2K 0V9. A light lunch will follow.

Doug Roxburgh - Richard Wojcik

DAVID CAMERON ROXBURGH

With deep sadness we announce the passing of David Cameron Roxburgh on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
David is survived by his loving wife Euphemia; children Douglas (Shelley), Kay (Glen) Gary (Bobbie); and grandchildren Jane, Carter and Cole.
Born and raised in Catrine Ayrshire, Scotland dad spoke of fond memories of camping with his dad and brothers as a youth and riding motorcycles in early adulthood. Trained as a carpenter (Joiner) Dad took a big step and immigrated with his young family to Canada (1968) seeking opportunity.  For the next 30 plus years he displayed his carpentry skills far and wide while working for Winnipeg Building and Decorating. Although Canada was home Dad and Mom loved taking regular trips back to Scotland to reconnect and visit relatives and friends.
Many summers were enjoyed at the Family cabin at Fox Lake, Minaki, Ontario. This is where dad could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, not to mention catch the odd fish.
At Dad’s request a private family gathering will be held in the near future.

Richard Wojcik's Winnipeg Funeral Chapel - Reina Rybuck Funeral Arrangements

REINA RYBUCK

Peacefully, with Mom Junko and Dad Cory at her side, it is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our wonderful eldest daughter who left us Wednesday, March 26, 2014 after bravely facing a five week illness in the Pediatric ICU ward at Health Sciences in Winnipeg.
After nearly 11 years of beautiful memories, Reina leaves behind her loving parents, younger sister Terra; paternal grandparents Stan and Kathy Rybuck of Winnipeg; and maternal grandparents Seki and Eikichi Imaizumi of Tokyo. Carrying Reina in their hearts are Uncle Quintin; Aunty Carole; cousins Luke and Liam of Calgary along with Uncle Koichi; Aunty Mami and cousins Wataru and Ryu of Tokyo. There are scores more aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved Reina and whom Reina loved back. She was predeceased by paternal great grandma Mathilda Jones and paternal great uncle Walter Rybuck.
All children are special and Reina was no exception. Always a happy baby, toddler and child, she was the quiet organizer. Everything had its place and family, with its history and tradition, was very important to Reina as she developed her own life pattern. Effort and achievement were also dear to her and she determinedly applied herself to everything she tried. Reina proved to be a talented painter and dancer, a strong swimmer and a diligent school student here and in Japan. She loved school and learning, spending much time reading and meticulously writing in her journals. She talked and wrote about becoming a bug scientist one day and had she chosen that or any other path Reina would have flourished. Among all her activities however, Reina’s passion was soccer. She loved being on the field with her Bonivital Flames friends, gave her all and was becoming a student of the game as her ability and confidence grew.
Most importantly though Reina was a kind and considerate person who cared about others and was always willing to help. She appreciated the bigger world she lived in and was interested in some day seeing much more of its peoples, cultures and wonders.
At this time, a memorial is being planned for early May with details to follow later.
The Rybucks send a special thank you to all the wonderful people in PICU, neurology, EEG and the Ronald McDonald family room who took tender care of Reina and us during this time. We know that Reina received the best care our world class system is capable of because of your dedication and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers, persons wishing to remember Reina are asked to consider donating to Ronald McDonald House Manitoba.

Richard Wojcik Funeral Chapel - Raymond MacDonald Funeral Arrangements

RAYMOND JAMES MacDONALD

Ray passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 after a seven year battle with a rare cancer.
Left to cherish Ray’s memory are his wife June; only child and adored daughter Cathy (Grant, Ty, Turner); siblings Verna, Clarice (Cec), Muriel, Lorne (Ruth), Don (Rita); and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ray started his teaching career at a young age in the Neepawa area. In 1965 he accepted a position in Nigeria with CIDA and taught at Government College Zaria. Upon his return to Canada his career took him to St. James Collegiate, John Taylor Collegiate, and the University of Winnipeg Collegiate.  Later Ray substituted at St. Mary’s Academy where as usual, ‘the girls’ adored him.  At graduation his dance card was full; the dates of those young ladies were not so enamoured!
It has been stated often that a good teacher is born to the job; this describes Ray.  He truly loved and enjoyed his job. Over the years in many parts of the world former students never failed to stop and reminisce.  Each year for the last 10 years in Victoria he has met a group of these ‘old’ students for a wonderful dinner and a walk down memory lane.  They came from the entire Island for this evening and he loved the time he spent with former students.
In compliance with Ray’s wishes, no Funeral Service will be held. A private Interment will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank all the wonderful people of Cancer Care.  We are very grateful to Dr. Paul Kerr, whose skill gave us these last seven years.  The last seven weeks were made more comfortable for him by Dr. Renelle Myers.  There truly is not a doctor more suited to her career.  We are deeply grateful to the wonderful staff of 3E Riverview Palliative Care for their care and compassion.
Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, please raise a glass and toast a life well lived.

Richard Wojcik's Winnipeg Funeral Chapel - Eva Moon Funeral Arrangements

EVA MOON

Peacefully, after a short illness, on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, Eva Moon passed away at Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 96 years.
Eva is lovingly remembered by sons Allan (Barbara) and David (Roberta); grandchildren Heather Moon, Steven Moon, Joanne Etherington, Christine Ruzycki and Robyn Moon; as well as six great grandchildren Alyssa, Dylan and Katie Moon, Cole and Justine Etherington and Hannah Ruzycki.
Born Sept 29, 1917 at Pucklechurch, England, Eva immigrated to Winnipeg at age 11.  She attended Bannatyne School, followed by Dominion Business College. While working sales at Eaton’s, Eva met Ewart Moon.  They were married in 1940, at St. Andrews Church, then on Wallesay Street. Their first son, Allan was born in 1942, followed by David in 1946.  The family spent many happy summers camping, before building their Betula Lake cabin in 1957.  This cabin remains in the family and has been much enjoyed by all the generations.
Eva was proud to be a lifetime member of St. Andrews Women's Auxiliary and Grace Hospital Auxiliary.   She also worked in the St. James Civic Offices during Census and Election years. Nineteen wonderful winter holidays were spent in Hawaii with family and friends.  Eva and Ewart were married for 64 years, at the time of Ewart's passing in 2004.
Mum was the rock of our family, and her loss will be felt every day.  Her children, grand and great-grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy, and we all loved her dearly.
Eva’s Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Charleswood Care Centre for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed at Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7, or St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0R1.
