WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL - RUTH BODEN FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Ruth Lenea Boden peacefully passed away at Poseidon Care Centre on Thursday, September 25, 2014 having celebrated her 100th birthday on July 6, 2014. 
Left to mourn Ruth’s passing are her sons Lloyd and Ross (Lauri); daughters Barbara Rocan and Linda Harrison (John).  Nanny will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Carolyn Isliefson (Allan), Mark Rocan, Raymond Harrison (Mary), Sherry Poirier (Roger), Cameron Harrison (Tracey), Brian Rocan (Eleanor), Sandra Delavau (Jeff) and Michael Harrison (Tracy); as well as 18 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Boden in 1969; twin sister Vera Johnson and sisters Violet Tonnellier and Mabel Sjoblom.  She was also predeceased by son-in-laws Ken Harrison, Barry Johnson and Lionel Rocan as well as daughter-in-law Eleanor Boden.
Ruth was born on a homestead in Mulvihill, MB to Swedish immigrants, Walmer and Augusta Berg.  She and her three sisters grew up on the family farm surrounded by music, love and laughter.  Ruth was very proud of her children and her greatest joy was to spend time with her family.  Having grown up in a musical family, she could play many instruments and always enjoyed family gatherings with singing and music.  She enjoyed picnics with her sisters and their families and was always a willing participant in a game of cards or cribbage.  Besides having musical talent, Ruth also knitted beautiful sweaters and baby outfits and was known for her delicious Swedish coffee bread.  Ruth treasured her time with her grandchildren and always managed to make each of them feel special.
A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Khartum Shrine Centre, 1155 Wilkes Avenue.  A private family interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Poseidon Care Centre for their kind and compassionate care during her stay there. 
In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Ruth’s love for animals, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 54 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
