Don passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 97 years. 
Left to survive Don are his wife, Edith of 62 years; son Donovan (Jen); daughters Susan and Kim (Greg); three grandchildren (Jared, Kevin and Rylee); and one great granddaughter (Sage).  He was predeceased by parents, Joe and Helen Mills; and siblings Marjorie, Thelma, Kathleen and Richard. 
Don was born on March 28, 1917. He was a lifelong resident of Winnipeg. He retired from the Province of Manitoba, Dental Health Services in 1983 after 20 years of service. A defining moment in Don’s life was the nearly six years served with the 4th Canadian Armored Division in England and Europe during the Second World War.  Your family will not forget the stories told and hope you are now at peace from the memories that we shall never comprehend. Thank you for your loyalty, courage and love of country and family. We will remember and love you always. Rest now, duty done.
To celebrate a long life lived well; family, friends and staff are invited to gather with Edith and family on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, for a brief prayer service with Fr. Ron Pasinato officiating. Reception will immediately follow. A private Inurnment in Brookside Cemetery will be held at a later date.
