RICHARD WOJCIK'S WINNIPEG FUNERAL DIRECTOR - IAN SPENCE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

IAN MCDONALD SPENCE

It is with deep sadness we announce that Dad passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2014 at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 80 years.
Left to forever cherish Ian’s memory are daughters Cheryl (Ken) and Karen (Tom); grandchildren Justin Nordstrom, Scott and John (Marie) Neillings; great-grandchildren Madison, Liam and Avery Neillings and his brother Robert (Pat); nephew Les; and niece Kim. He was predeceased by his parents Florence and Samuel; brother Laurie; and wife Shirley.
On October 12, 1933, Ian was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, growing up in the West End attending Greenway, General Wolfe and Tec Voc High School. He was a certified sheet metal worker and worked many years in the heating and plumbing trade. He joined the Reserves and was the lead drummer in the band. Ian was a jack of all trades and would often lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a long time member of the Army and Navy #1 and loved his Saturday's there at the BS table. Dad had a special love of Christmas spending many hours putting lights up on his tree or creating a village scene.
Happy hour will be held in Ian's memory in the Army and Navy #1, 300-1395 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A special thanks to the staff at the Deer Lodge Centre and Dr. Kerr.
