It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Grandma on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 79 years.
Joan leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters Tracey (Denis) and Sheri (Calvin); and her greatest joys in life, her grandchildren; Kyle, Miranda, Brendan, Cayden, Callee and Jaxxy. She was predeceased by her husband, Cyril in 2004; brother Samuel; and her parents.
Mom was a fun-loving, positive person, caring personality touched the hearts of many. Her labour of love (as she would call it) was sewing and her garden.
In compliance with Joan’s wishes, no Funeral Service will be held.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stephen Smith, who made Mom's stay at the Victoria Hospital pleasurable and safe in a very unsure time. A very special thanks to all of the Nurses on the 4th floor and to the numerous heath care aides who cared for her.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in Joan's memory.
